CANADIAN JOURNAL OF PROGRAM EVALUATION | | | Published by the University of Calgary Press on behalf of the Canadian Evaluation Society |
The Canadian Journal of Program Evaluation is published twice a year by the CES (under the international standard serial number ISSN 0834-1516). It seeks to promote the theory and practice of program evaluation in Canada by publishing: - Articles on all aspects of the theory and practice of evaluation, including methodology, evaluation standards, implementation of evaluations, reporting and use of studies, and the audit or metaevaluation of evaluation.
- Research and Practice Notes that provide practical examples of the applications of particular methodologies or procedures within the context of a particular study or group of studies.
- Book Reviews of relevance to the practice in Canada.
The editor-in-chief of the Journal is J. Bradley Cousins Professor, Faculty of Education, University of Ottawa 145 Jean-Jacques-Lussier P.O. Box 450, Station A Ottawa, Ontario K1N 6N5 (613)562-5800x4036, (613)562-5146 CJPE Publication Schedule January 15, 2010. Dear CES members, I wish you all a happy and productive 2010. I reported at the 2009 CES Annual General Meeting that we were behind on Journal issues due to a variety of reasons. I wish to assure you that the editorial team (which now includes Courtney Amo as Associate Editor) is working hard to move forward a backlog of issues. Here is an update: - The fall 2008 issue (23, 2) will be submitted to the publisher before the end of January (hopefully next week). According to past practice, the pdf version of the issue is published about 7-8 weeks after submission and the hardcopy version is received via surface mail by members about 6-7 weeks later. This means that 23(2) will be published online in March and in the hands of members in May. The issue consists of a special thematic segment of articles on evaluation and indigenous peoples guest edited by Andrea L.K. Johnston. It will also include several other articles.
- A special issue 23(3) on organizational evaluation capacity building edited by myself will be right on the heels of fall 2008 issue. The issue is comprised of a set of empirical research studies on the topic.
- Spring 2009 is virtually complete and will follow shortly after the above volumes.
- We are still populating fall 2009 (24,2) and anticipate production later in spring 2010.
- A special issue 24(3) on evaluation in tobacco control is being guest edited by Robert Schwartz and is expected soon.
- Spring 2010 will be published as soon as is feasible. Several articles are in process.
We are aiming to get back on track by late spring 2010. We also have a special anniversary issue planned for winter 2010. I sincerely regret the inconvenience caused to members and authors alike by these delays and I accept full responsibility for them. I wish to ensure everyone that we are committed to getting caught up in the near term and are working hard in your service. As always, we welcome your ideas for articles and theme sections. Sincerely, Brad Cousins, Editor. |
